at All Saints' Church Longstanton commencing at
10:45am at the
Church War Memorial.

"They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember them."

Remembrance Sunday
10th November 2019
10:45am

Remembrance Sunday is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedoms we enjoy today. The service is framed to ensure that no-one is forgotten.

The wreaths laid at the War Memorial in the Churchyard are dedicated to all who have suffered or died in past wars as well as recent and current conflicts.
It offers us the opportunity to take time out to respectful remember and honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our much-cherished freedoms.

As well as remembering past sacrifices, we also reflect on the present and remember those who were killed or injured in recent conflicts such as Iraq and Afghanistan.

Many who because of war and conflict, live with appalling injures, both physical and psychological. It is right that we remember them as they, their families and friends come to terms with such life changing injuries and loss.

At our Remembrance Sunday Service, we take the opportunity to pause
and to reflect on the sacrifices made by those from within our own
community here in
Longstanton

"They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember them."
